Just tried the New Okolehoa and I am way dissapointed. The base taste is still there and for a split second I was more than happy. As soon as the overwhelming coconut taste kicked in though I felt I was doing a shot of Malibu Rum.

A friend of mine who collects bottles looked at my 30- year old “lava rock” ‘Okolehao bottle and said it was just an ordinary ceramic bottle probably made in the Far East. Lava Rock indeed!

I have in hand a bottle of Maui ‘Okolehao made by Haleakala Distillers of Makawao, Maui, HI. Just released Dec 2009 and available in Hawaii, maybe only Maui. Try the wine stores. I wish I knew something about the lava bottles.

I have an unopened bottle of Okolehao. The Tiki bottle is made of lava with a serial no. 2005. The three pieces are still together. Can any one give me any info about it.

Every so often I search again and again for what I can only describe as the heavenliest scotch I have ever enjoyed. If ANYONE has information on getting a vintage bottle or when the New verion will hit the market, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!
