Excellent! I’m heading to London again in December, it’ll be good to have an alternative to the *very* spendy Vic’s.

Have you checked out South London Pacific? I know Danny (Tiki Diablo) carved a monster of a tiki there, but I’ve gotten a sort of nightclub-vibe from what I’ve heard about it. Trailer Happiness isn’t totally tiki, but has that gigantic Tretchikoff on one wall, that’s gotta be worth something…

Overall, it definitely sounds like there’s room for another tiki spot in London.

I’ve actually been meaning to visit SLP, but as you say, it does have kind of a nightclub vibe going, which isn’t my bag at all. It’s also in a part of London that I’m totally unfamiliar with, and some spots south of the Thames are kind of iffy at night, so I’d have to do some daytime reconnaissance first.

I’d never heard of Trailer Happiness before. Sounds intriguing.

Trailer Happiness is definitely worth a visit. There’s a choice of two mai tais: Don the Beachcomber style or Trader Vic’s style. The bartenders are utter pros too!

I was lucky to get involved with the project, though a recommendation from Cheekytiki.
I’ve designed the branding, menu and postcard images shown in this blog. This will be an amazing new tiki bar with Jamie and Anjy bringing lots of amazing ideas and creations. Lots more to show…

Yeah, I can’t wait to see the Mahiki next week.
Chris is right, the Trailer Happiness is great, especially for the drinks.

  9. Miss Aloha Says:

RE Night club vibe of SLP, - depends on which night you go of course! Bar is open from Tuesday to Saturdays and each night has a different feel. as for ’spots south of the Thames are kind of iffy at night’ - that is true of all areas in London!
